Tuesday July 26th, a day like any other. I woke up around 8:30am, showered, had a bowl of Shreddies, packed up my laptop and headed out the door for work. As i was locking my apartment door, i glanced out the laundry room window to the parking lot.
Big Burn 2k5

This past weekend a number of friends and I gathered at DJ's cottage for "Big Burn 2k5". This is an annual event that takes place at the cottage every summer. We bbq, sit around and solve the worlds problems, and burn stuff. We usually burn big stuff. Past big burns have included mattresses, coffee tables, fences, pieces of an old mini barn, and this year we burned a closet door and alot of old bushes and trees.

11 is the new 10

This was not that easy to do, but here are my 11 favorite rock albums from the last 20 years. Actually, they are all within the last 15 years, most of the stuff i was listening to in the late 80's is not really worthy of any sort of "best of" list.
These are all albums that i still listen to quite regularly. Each one of them had a pretty profound impact when i first heard them, and that is why they made this list. There have been plenty of good rock and roll albums that have come out in the past 20 years, but very few great ones. This is a list of what i consider to be the great ones.
Why did i list 11? Because top 10 lists are lame. Top 11 lists are much cooler.

I've listed them in chronological order.
1990 - Kings X - Faith Hope Love
1991 - U2 - Achtung Baby
1994 - Jeff Buckley - Grace
1994 - Pearl Jam - Vitalogy
1994 - Ben Harper - Welcome to the Cruel World
1995 - Radiohead - The Bends
1995 - Adam Again - Perfecta
1996 - Wilco - Being There
1996 - The Aunt Betty's - Self Titled
2000 - CUSH - The New Sound
2000 - Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker
