I don't consider myself to be an angry person. I have a pretty even temper, and it's not easy to get me angry.
Unless you're one of the following people. For some reason, whenever i see these particular people on television, i become filled with unexplainable rage, and i have to turn the channel.
My friend
Steven started a
"Punch in the Face Tour" back in 2003, and i'm going to carry on the tradition for 2005.
This is my official "punch in the face" list. What does this mean? It means that if i actually ever come face to face with any of the following people, i must punch them in the face. I have no choice in the matter as my anger will compell me. I will not seek these people out to punch them [because that would just be wrong], but if i ever happen to run into them, they will be punched. In the face. By me.
I've limited my list to 9. The list is actually longer than that, but i figured if i put more, people might think i'm crazy or something.
The list is in no particular order, i feel equal rage towards them all.
Last Thursday, the silverorange crew made their way out to UPEI to check out Canadian rock legends Sloan in action at the unfortunately named campus bar. [The Wave]
Montreal boys, The Stills opened the show with a great set. I had never heard these guys before, and was mightily impressed with them. Great sounding band with some very talented musicians.
Sloan put on a great show, despite having to put up with some drunken frat boy types chucking beer at the stage. At one point, it looked like someone in the front row might face the back end of Chris' bass or Jay's guitar, or might actually get stabbed in the head with a drumstick. Those dudes were angry!
Wilco announced this week that they will be releasing a live double album on November 1st. I've been a Wilco fan since i first heard "Being There" back in 1996, and have been hoping to get a chance to see them live. Unfortunately for the time being I have had to settle for one really great live bootleg album that i've played to death in the last couple of months. I'm looking forward to this new live release, and am crossing my fingers for a live DVD version as well.

I was going to preface this with some thoughts and feelings from my own life about what it was like to grow up in a family that was somewhat poor.
Then i read through the following post and decided it says it all.
From John Scalzi via liquidthinking.org :
Being Poor
Being poor is knowing exactly how much everything costs.
Being poor is getting angry at your kids for asking for all the crap they see on TV.
Being poor is having to keep buying $800 cars because they're what you can afford, and then having the cars break down on you, because there's not an $800 car in America that's worth a damn.
Being poor is hoping the toothache goes away.
Being poor is knowing your kid goes to friends' houses but never has friends over to yours.
Being poor is going to the restroom before you get in the school lunch line so your friends will be ahead of you and won't hear you say "I get free lunch" when you get to the cashier.
Being poor is living next to the freeway.
Being poor is coming back to the car with your children in the back seat, clutching that box of Raisin Bran you just bought and trying to think of a way to make the kids understand that the box has to last.
Being poor is wondering if your well-off sibling is lying when he says he doesn't mind when you ask for help.
Being poor is off-brand toys.
