While sitting at home last night, channel surfing, I happened upon channel 56 - aka 'Peachtree TV' - formally know at 'The Superstation'. After watching a few minutes of a Seinfeld re-run, a commercial came on informing me that it is Steven Segal week on Peachtree TV.
Seriously.
Steven Segal week. In 2008.
I wonder if they have a hard time finding sponsors for those time slots? I can't believe the man is still making movies. Though a quick check of IMDB does show he has a number of recently completed movies as well as a few in production. All of which have awesome titles and character names:
Prince of Pistols (2008) (in production) .... John Prince
Killing Point (2008) (V) (post-production) .... Detective Jacob King
The Untitled Onion Movie (2008) (completed) .... Cock Puncher
Pistol Whipped (2008) (V) .... Matt
Urban Justice (2007) (V) .... Simon
Flight of Fury (2007) (V) .... John Sands
Attack Force (2006) (V) .... Cmdr. Marshall Lawson
Shadow Man (2006) (V) .... Jack Foster
Mercenary for Justice (2006) (V) .... John Seeger
Black Dawn (2005) (V) .... Jonathan Cold
Today You Die (2005) (V) .... Harlan Banks
Check out some of those character names. Commander Marshall Lawson! Though the best is for the Onion Movie - Cock Puncher! Hilarious. And that is likely the only movie with Steven Segal in it that i will see on purpose in the next.... ever.
Who knows though, maybe the guy will have some sort of renaissance like John Travolta did for a year or two after Pulp Fiction. Maybe.
Steven Segal Week

peacetree is no superstation...frig i know its the same station that only plays old sitcoms and 80s movies but something was lost with the name change. I haven't seen ferris bueller on 20 times recently though....losing their touch.

How did I miss that promo!? Oh right, the crap detector on my tv blocks anything with poor acting and repetitive storylines. How many times do we need to see a retired FBI/CIA/Marine turned cook trying to start a new life, only to become a 1 man killing machine against drug dealers/terrorists in seeking revenge for the murder of a wife/child/former boss/caribou, etc.
There is a Steven Seagal Formula @ seagalology.com that's worth a few laughs.
