If you've been here before, you know i am quite a fan of Donald Millers books. In fact, i would say that his last two books have had a fairly significant impact on my faith. They have also led to a very interesting and challenging breakfast/book club, where over the past year, a number of friends and i have been gathering very, very early on Wednesday mornings to eat breakfast and talk about Millers books, first 'Blue Like Jazz', then 'Searching for God Knows What'. The entire group enjoyed batting around Millers thoughts and views on how we live out our Faith in this day and age. We didn't always agree with everything he said, and were often challenged to look at our own views on things, and reconsider our position. [We've since moved on to Rob Bells 'Velvet Elvis', which is also a great book.]
Millers newest book 'To Own a Dragon' is due out next week, and i am very much looking forward to it. The book is subtitled 'Reflections on Growing Up Without a Father'. Having grown up in a single parent family myself, it should be interesting to hear some of the stories that Miller has and compare them to the struggles and such that I've experienced. I'm sure I'll have much more to write after i finish the book.
You can download the entire first chapter of 'To Own a Dragon' here. You can also listen to Miller read excerpts from the book on the same page. I recommend you listen to the reading, it's quite funny.
Another Miller link for you. donmillerfans.net is a new site for fans of Don to discuss his books. It's also a place where Miller takes time to answer some questions. It's a brand new site, with not much content at the moment, but it looks promising.

Dude- Meg's sister lives in seattle and she knows Don. I forget what the connection is but he may or may not be dating one of her close friends, or something like that. Small world.
