This was not that easy to do, but here are my 11 favorite rock albums from the last 20 years. Actually, they are all within the last 15 years, most of the stuff i was listening to in the late 80's is not really worthy of any sort of "best of" list.
These are all albums that i still listen to quite regularly. Each one of them had a pretty profound impact when i first heard them, and that is why they made this list. There have been plenty of good rock and roll albums that have come out in the past 20 years, but very few great ones. This is a list of what i consider to be the great ones.
Why did i list 11? Because top 10 lists are lame. Top 11 lists are much cooler.

Debatable, of course, but I would place firmly Incubus - Make Yourself as one of the best rock albums in recent years. Very good list you have, though.

Dennis! thought i'd shock ya with a reply... i can't argue with most of your list... mainly because i've never heard of them / never listened to their music, also because i'm not good at arguing. But I would choose OK computer over the Bends... everyone knows it's superior. I still listen to it... that's my guage for good music. And i'm a little suprised at Actung Baby over the Joshua tree... though it was played immensely on the radio, it's still a pretty incredible CD all the way through. Your list is missing Dylan... esp Time out of Mind... but I guess it's not really rock and roll. I also loved POD's satillite... but i'm not sure if it is in the 'great' catagory. The song 'Portrait' is though. I'll email ya soon...
